This was my second self-portrait, started in 2019 when I felt lost. Over the past eight years I added layers through important life phases and now consider it finished. It represents finding my true self: cracked gold beams behind the head resembling light breaking through darkness, a third eye emerging, and a chest that captures the uneasy feeling of straddling two worlds.
